SWAN (System Wide Automated Network) has been serving Illinois libraries since 1974 and today has a membership of 97 libraries throughout the Chicagoland area. By consolidating services and collaborating together, the SWAN membership is able to promote:
The Digital Public Library of America brings together the riches of America’s libraries, archives, and museums, and makes them freely available to the world. It strives to contain the full breadth of human expression, from the written word, to works of art and culture, to records of America’s heritage, to the efforts and data of science.
For many requests, patrons can place their own requests for books and other materials directly through the SWAN catalog using their personal accounts and PIN numbers.
For other requests or personal assistance, patrons are asked to visit the library circulation desk, call the library (630-557-2441), or send an e-mail to info@kanevillelibrary.org. The staff is happy to assist you in obtaining your items.
