To The Kaneville Public Library District was awarded a grant to create a mini business center for the community right here in the library.
To better equip our community with essential employment resources and services, we have developed a multi-faceted plan including: a small scale "business center" featuring functional furniture and relevant books, audiobooks, and other materials; technology kits; and a series of one-on-one sessions and group presentations. With this combination of resources and services, we can ensure that our community members are prepared to "bounce back" from any hardships (pandemic-related or otherwise) and move forward in their daily lives. Our primary goal is to increase the knowledge of our users with important skill sets including, but not limited to: basic computer skills, resume and cover letter writing, job application preparation, and interviewing techniques.
This project meets many aspects of the Kaneville Public Library's mission. We strive to meet the needs of our patrons through materials, services, and programs - which we will accomplish by providing all three of these resources to serve our comunity.
As this project develops, please keep an eye on this space and our social media pages. We would love for you to join us at our upcoming speaker series events and try out the new space for yourself once it is up and functioning!
