SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT with KPLD

 the Kaneville Public Library District is currently open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY during our regular operating hours.

We are offering curbside pickup, 30-minute computer appointments, and 30-minute visit appointments at this time. Additional instructions for scheduling an appointment can be found below. 

 

 You are still required to wear a mask or other face covering when inside the library building. We ask that you also be respectful of the personal space of others and maintain 6 ft. between individuals to promote social distancing.

CURBSIDE PICKUP APPOINTMENTS

You will need to reserve all items prior to arriving for pickup. There are three ways to reserve items for pickup. 

 

1. Log into your account and place items on hold through our catalog. You can do this by clicking the link here or using the SWAN Libraries app on a smart-phone.

2. Call the library at (630) 557-2441 and ask a staff member to place items on hold for you.

3. Send us an email at info@kanevillelibrary.org with the subject line "Material Request" with what you are looking for.

 

When your items are ready for pickup, you’ll receive an email or phone call from us. We will arrange a pick-up time with you then. Your next step is to visit the library and park in the closest space to the building. Call the library and let us know you are here. We can bring the items out to your car or bring them to the door and meet you. If you don’t have a cell phone to give us a call when you arrive, we’ll make arrangements to be on the lookout for your vehicle during your scheduled pickup time.

 

Important things to note: 

  • Individual Patrons will be limited to 25 materials per Curbside Pickup Order.

  • Please remember the library is currently not accepting book donations. 

 

To Return Items: 

  • All items must be returned in the book drop or in the large plastic tub near the east entrance during staffed hours. Please do not hand returns to staff members during a Pickup Order unless you have specifically requested this prior to your arrival.

  • Items will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before processing - this means they will remain on patron accounts until they are checked in.

COMPUTER  + STUDY APPOINTMENTS

The library has two available computers and two individual study tables available to reserve for 30-minutes each. An appointment is required to use these facilities and preference is given to Kaneville Public Library District card-holders. Please try to make a reservation at least 12-hours in advance so that staff can confirm we have an available space. Patrons visiting the library in person will be required to wear a face mask and maintain an appropriate social distance from staff and any other users while in the building. 

BROWSING APPOINTMENTS

In order to provide the safest experience for our staff and patrons, we will be allowing 30-minute browsing sessions to patrons by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call us at (630) 557-2441 or send us an email at info@kanevillelibrary.org. Patrons visiting the library in person will be required to wear a face mask and maintain an appropriate social distance from staff and any other users while in the building.
